Danny Johnson Takes Lafrance Performance Powered Small Block to a 3rd Place Finish in 358 Modified DIRTcar Series Race at Mohawk Raceway

Over the last few decades, there arguably has not been a driver that has had greater success in the Northeast Dirt Modified world than that of Danny Johnson. With Lafrance Performance power under the hood, Johnson drove his Travis Stacey prepared car to a solid third place finish on Sunday afternoon at Mohawk International Raceway in the 358 Modified DIRTcar Series event.

It was a success weekend for Lafrance Performance at Autodrome Granby as well, as Alain Boisvert posted a solid fourth place finish in the Bert 150 on Saturday, while Chris Raabe rebounded from a couple of issues to finish inside the top ten as well.

Johnson’s third place finish earns him the Lafrance Performance performer of the week awards this week. More big events are on tap this weekend, as RPM Speedway hosts the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series on Friday night, and Brighton Speedway is up next on Saturday night for another 100 lap DIRTcar Series event. Teams will then have a couple weeks off to prepare for the Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairground on October 8th to 13th.

Mario Clair Earns Second Place Finish in DIRTcar 358 Series Race at Autodrome Drummond With Lafrance Performance Power

With the 2013 winding down, the only events remaining are big events, and Lafrance Performance and their clients are ready for the challenge. This past weekend it was the 358 Modified and Big Block Modified DIRTcar Series events at Autodrome Drummond that garnered the most attention for the clients of Lafrance Performance.

Mario Clair continued his impressive season, posting the seventh fastest speed in time trials overall (second in his group), and finished second in both the qualifying heat race and the 75 lap main event for the 358 Modified DIRTcar Series. Saturday night’s Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series at Drummond was rained out.

Clair’s second place finish once again earns him the Lafrance Performance Performer of the Week. Clair and his team are having a phenomenal season, and we wish them all the best in the coming weeks.

There are several big events coming up over the next few weeks for Lafrance Performance and their clients. The 358 Modified DIRTcar Series continues this Friday night back at Mohawk Raceway, and the Big Block Super DIRTcar Series will also travel to Mohawk for a Saturday night event. The biggest event of all is now just a month away with Super DIRT Week.

Mario Clair and Chris Raabe Claim Track Championships in 2013 With Lafrance Performance Power Under The Hood

Lafrance Performance has had several solid weeks in a row through the second half of the season with multiple feature winners, often more than one throughout out any given weekend. Although there were no race winners this weekend, we are very happy to report that Mario Clair and Chris Raabe are champions at RPM Speedway (Raabe) and Cornwall Speedway (Clair).

Autodrome Granby had their championship decided by Mother Nature on Friday night, leaving Alain Boisvert third place overall in the point standing to finish the season. He was just nine points out of first place, going into the final night, but rain washed away and chance for a shot at the track championship.

Mario Clair posted a strong fourth place finish at Mohawk Raceway on Friday night, while Raabe ended up in eighth place. Raabe ended up third in points at Mohawk, while Clair ended in fifth place overall. Clair also finished the Frenchie’s “Chevy Runs Deep” Modified Series in fourth place, while Raabe finished fifth. Clair also finished fourth at Autodrome Drummond on Saturday night, finishing out the year second overall in the championship chase.

The 2013 track championship came down to Clair vs. Raabe in the final stages at Cornwall Speedway, but misfortunes for both drivers almost had the title slip away from both drivers. Brake failure on Clair’s car, and a late race incident for Raabe caused major concern, but Clair had accumulated enough points throughout the year to capture the championship.
