Lafrance Performance Gets First Win of 2014 as Mario Clair Claims DIRTcar Series/Canadian Nationals Series Win at Cornwall Motor Speedway
It didn’t take long for Lafrance Performance to find victory lane in 2014 as Mario Clair brought home the big win at Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night in the DIRTcar 358 Modified Series/Canadian Nations Series opening night.
Lafrance Performance clients Alain Boisvert and Chris Raabe led the field to the green flag for the 100 lap main event at Cornwall, both drivers remained in contention for much of the race until lap 43 when Raabe was sidelined with front end damage after contact from another car. At this point, Mario Clair was starting to make his move towards the front of the field, taking third place by lap 50, and grabbing the second spot just a few laps later. After trading the lead on a couple occasions, Clair took the top spot for good on lap 76 and cruised to victory. Boisvert finished sixth, and Dominic Dufault finished in ninth.

He had just made a pass for fourth place when he was involved in a violent wreck. Lafrance Performance would like to wish Bill a speedy recovery as he heals up from the neck injury that he obtained during the crash.
It will be a full weekend of racing next week as Lafrance Performance clients will be represented at Mohawk International Raceway and Autodrome Granby on Friday night. Saturday night will be Autodrome Drummond and back to Cornwall Speedway on Sunday night.
