Lafrance Performance Clients Shine at Super DIRT Week XLII in Syracuse New York; Brockville Speedway Finale Coming up This Weekend

For the past 42 years, Super DIRT Week in Syracuse, New York has matched the best against the best from all over the Northeast. This season was no exception and Lafrance Performance was proud to be part of it this year, with several clients using Lafrance Performance power in the biggest event of the season.

The first on track session of the week came on Thursday afternoon with 358 Modified time trials, and Chris Raabe set the 2nd fastest time of the day, winning the outside pole award for the 358 Modified division at the New York State Fairgrounds. Action moved to Brewerton Speedway on Thursday night for a 100 358 DIRTcar Series event, and Mario Clair set fast time with his Lafrance Performance powered Small Block Modified. Clair won his qualifying heat race and mixed it up inside the top five for a good part of the feature before the tires faded and finished 13th.

Saturday at the Fairgrounds was ¾ of a lap away from being a very special day, as Billy Dunn dominated the last segment of the Salute to the Troops 150 at Syracuse. On the final lap of the race, going into turn one, the fuel cell ran dry in Dunn’s Lafrance Performance powered car and the win slipped away. Fortunately for Dunn, redemption was sweet, and he won Sunday’s NAPA 200 in his Big Block car. Alain Boisvert drove to an impressive third place finish in Saturday’s event. Mario Clair finished the race in 13th, while Yan Bussiere and Chris Raabe both suffered mechanical issues and were not able to finish the event.

This coming weekend marks the final weekend of the season for racing in this area. Lafrance Performance would like to wish all of our clients success as the curtain closes on a stellar season.
